Arie S. Belldegrun, MD - Chairman of the Board of Directors
Dr. Belldegrun currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company. In May 2008, he joined Two River Group Holdings as Chairman and partner. Dr. Belldegrun is Professor and Chief of Urologic Oncology, and holds the Carol and Roy Doumani Chair in Urologic Oncology, at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his medical degree at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, and conducted his post-doctoral studies at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. He completed his Urologic Surgery residency at Harvard Medical School in 1985 and his Surgical Oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute/National Institute of Health (NIH) in 1988. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons (AAGUS).
Dr. Belldegrun is also an accomplished entrepreneur. He is the founder and founding chairman of Agensys Inc., a privately held biotechnology company developing fully human antibody cancer therapeutics based on novel and clinically relevant targets. In December 2007 Agensys was acquired by Astellas Pharma, Inc. in a deal valued at $537 million. He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of Cougar Biotechnology, a publicly traded biotechnology company with a specific focus on the field of oncology. Cougar Biotechnology is currently in phase 3 clinical trial in prostate cancer with a targeted oral small molecule called Abiraterone Acetate.
Dr. Belldegrun is on the scientific boards of several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and is a reviewer for many medical journals and granting organizations. He served as Chairman of the Molecular and Biological Technology Committee of the American Urological Association and member of its Technology Assessment Council, as a member of the Governor's council on Bioscience for the State of California, and as a biotechnology group leader and member of The Los Angeles Economy and Jobs Committee established in October 2006 by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. He is the author of several books on prostate and kidney cancers, holds several biopharmaceutical patents, and has written over 400 scientific publications with an emphasis on Urologic Oncology.
Dr. Belldegrun resides in Los Angeles with his wife Dr. Rebecka Belldegrun, President and CEO of Bellco Capital, and their four children.



Roger G. Berlin, MD, FACP, FACG - Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Berlin has over 20 years of drug development experience in multiple therapeutic categories, which have led to numerous NDA, sNDA and MRP approvals. Prior to joining Arno Therapeutics, Dr. Berlin was President, Global R&D at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, the $2.7 billion non-prescription division of Wyeth, from 1998 to 2008, previously serving in various positions of increasing responsibility since 1994. While at Wyeth, Dr. Berlin was responsible for the development and successful clinical testing and registration of multiple NDAs, sNDAs and MRP approvals. He led a 400+ person organization comprised of diverse functions including clinical research, medical affairs, biostatistics, regulatory affairs, formulation and analytical development, project planning and new business development. Dr. Berlin served on the divisional senior leadership team, was an instructor for the corporate leadership training program, served on the Consumer Health Products Association scientific leadership group and was Wyeth's lead presenter for several key FDA advisory committee meetings.
Prior to joining Wyeth, Dr. Berlin served in a variety of leadership roles in prescription drug development at Merck from 1985 to 1994. He was head of global clinical research operations, a group of approximately 225 that conducted clinical studies in all therapeutic areas worldwide. In 1994, he led the first external course for the Chinese FDA that covered GCP, clinical study design and data interpretation. Previous to that assignment, Dr. Berlin was head of international regulatory liaison, responsible for registration strategy development and execution in a wide variety of therapeutic areas. During his time at Merck, Dr. Berlin served on many key leadership committees and groups and was involved in two inter-company collaborations that led to successful marketed products. Prior to his tenure at Merck, Dr. Berlin was in private practice in the area of gastroenterology.
Dr. Berlin holds a BS in Biology from Queens College, CUNY, an MD from Cornell-Weill Medical College and completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He serves on the advisory board of the Pharmaceutical MBA program at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and JRG Ventures. Dr. Berlin received research grants from NIH and the Bank of America-Giannini Foundation. He has published extensively, served as a reviewer to numerous journals and served on the national research committee of the American Gastroenterological Association.



Robert I. Falk - Director
Mr. Falk is the owner and founder of Healthcare Corporation, an organization involved in the startup of new business ventures with a specialty in healthcare that included renal dialysis, acute care hospitals, outpatient services and extended care facilities. Previously, Mr. Falk merged his 18 affiliated companies through a “pooling of interest” stock merger with Renal Treatment Centers (RTC) a New York Stock Exchange company and transitioned the merger of both companies which later merged with Total Renal Care (TRC) through a stock exchange. Mr. Falk’s experience includes: Vice President of Hospital Affiliates International, Inc. involved in the development and acquisition of hospitals in the USA and abroad; Manager of the Chicago office of McKee Berger Mansueto, Inc., an engineering consulting firm; Project Manager for Uniroyal Inc.; President/CEO of Executive Business Aviation, International Marine Corporation, Affiliated HealthCare, Pyramid Capital Corporation and various business partnerships. He is the co-author on various publications regarding construction cost, project management, and value engineering.
Mr. Falk has served on many profit and non-profit boards including; Centerstone Mental Health, Mental Health Management, National Dialysis Association, National Kidney Foundation and Vanderbilt Wilkerson Center. Mr. Falk received his MBA from Vanderbilt University – Owen School of Management, and has an undergraduate degree in mechanical Engineering (BSME).



William F. Hamilton - Director
Dr. Hamilton has served on the University of Pennsylvania faculty since 1967, and is the Landau Professor of Management and Technology, and Director of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at The Wharton School and the School of Engineering and Applied Science. As a co-founder and Director of Research, and later as Associate Director of the Institute of Health Economics, he led development of the interdisciplinary research program which was selected in nationwide competition as the National Center for Management Research in the health field. He serves as a director of NovaDel Pharma Inc., Avid Radiopharmaceuticals, Inc., Yaupon Therapeutics, Inc., Neuro Diagnostic Devices, Inc. and Neose Technologies, Inc. Dr. Hamilton received his B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Ph.D. in applied economics from the London School of Economics.



Peter M. Kash - Director
Mr. Kash, a co-founder of Arno, currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Kash is a co-founder and President of Two River Group Holdings, LLC. He has been a Biotechnology Venture Capitalist for 20 years, during which he has raised over $800 million and co-founded more than one dozen biopharmaceutical companies in the fields of oncology, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and ophthalmology. Mr. Kash is also the President of Riverbank Capital Securities, Inc., a FINRA registered broker dealer that specializes in conducting private placement financings for public and private development stage biotechnology companies. Riverbank has co-placed nearly $200 million since September 2005.
Mr. Kash currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Nile Therapeutics (Nasdaq: NLTX) and is also a director of several privately held companies, including Danube Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Kash was also a founding Board member of Intercept Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Italy.
From 1990-1992, Mr. Kash served as an Associate Professor of Marketing at Polytechnic University. Mr. Kash served as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship and International Venture Capital at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania from 1996-2000. Mr. Kash was Entrepreneur in Residence at Pace University in the spring of 2001 and at Ball State University in May 2002, as well as Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Business at Nihon University in Tokyo.
Mr. Kash earned his B.S. in Management Science from SUNY Binghamton and his M.B.A. in Banking and International Finance from Pace University. He is currently writing his thesis for his Doctorate of Education. He serves on the Boards of Cancer Schmancer, Fran Drescher’s organization dedicated to ensuring a cure for women’s cancers, and Keren-Or, a charity for blind and multi-handicapped children. Mr. Kash’s first book, Make Your Own Luck, is now available in eight languages worldwide. His second book, Freedom From Disease, written with co-author Dr. Jay Lombard, will be released in June. Mr. Kash will devote only a portion of his time to the business of the Company.



Joshua A. Kazam - Director
Mr. Kazam, a co-founder of Arno, currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Kazam is a co-founder and Partner of Two River Group Holdings, LLC and currently serves as Vice President and Director of Two River's managing member, Two River Group Management, LLC. Mr. Kazam also serves as an Officer and Director of Riverbank Capital Securities. Prior to co-founding Two River, he was employed by a venture capital firm specializing in biotechnology investments from July of 1999 to September of 2004, where he most recently served as Managing Director and was responsible for ongoing operations of venture investments. In addition, Mr. Kazam served as the Director of Investment Management for the Orion Biomedical Fund, a New York based private equity fund focused on biotechnology investments.
Mr. Kazam currently serves on the Board of several public companies, including Nile Therapeutics (Nasdaq: NLTX) and Velcera (VLCR.OB). Mr. Kazam also currently serves as a director of several privately held companies, including Tigris Pharmaceuticals, Danube Pharmaceuticals, and Cortiva Education.
Mr. Kazam received his degree in entrepreneurial management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and also currently serves as an advisor to the Vagelos Life Sciences program (http://www.upenn.edu/lsm/about.htm). He will devote only a portion of his time to the business of the Company.



David M. Tanen - Director and Secretary
Mr. Tanen, a co-founder of Arno, currently serves as the Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors of the Company. In September 2004, Mr. Tanen co-founded Two River and currently serves as Vice President and Director of Two River's managing member, Two River Group Management, LLC. Mr. Tanen also serves as an Officer and Director of Riverbank. Prior to founding Two River, from October 1996 to September 2004, Mr. Tanen was a Director of Paramount. Mr. Tanen also served as a member of the General Partner of the Orion Biomedical Fund, LP. Mr. Tanen currently serves as an officer and director of Nile Therapeutics, Inc. (NILT.OB) as well as several privately held biotechnology companies. Mr. Tanen received his B.A. from The George Washington University and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He will devote only a portion of his time to the business of the Company.



Scott L. Navins - Treasurer
Mr. Navins is the Vice President of Finance at Two River, where he is responsible for all accounting, finance and control activities. Mr. Navins joined Two River in 2005. Prior to joining Two River Group, Mr. Navins was the Senior Controller at Westbrook Partners, where he managed the accounting for a $560 million real estate private equity fund, including financial and partner reporting, tax coordination, maintaining internal controls and overseeing a $300 million credit facility, among other things. Before that, Mr. Navins was a Senior Manager at Morgan Stanley, where he managed the accounting for a $2.4 billion real estate private equity fund. Prior to that Mr. Navins was an Associate in the Finance Group at BlackRock, Inc. and the Controller for a high-tech venture capital fund.
Mr. Navins graduated with honors from The George Washington University in 1993, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy. Mr. Navins passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting examination in 1993.
